Result for the SurveyMonkey

We gave 8 questions and a few quizzes at the end.
First question was Do you smoke cigarettes ? Over 80% answered they do not smoke cigarettes. About 10% said they smoke cigarettes everyday or little bit.
Second one was How often do you hear about marijuana? I was surprised to hear that over 60% hear it few times a month because I don't hear that much often.
Third one was Do you know someone who smokes marijuana. And I heard Justin Bieber, Obama, Lady Gaga, etc. As we can see a lot of celebrities does marijuana in America. Some said his friends in France does marijuana.
Forth one was What images do you have towards marijuana? The answer we got was it sounds dangerous, I know that it is just an illegal drugs in Japan. We could understand the lack of their knowledge towards marijuana. It is actually not dangerous at all. I thought everybody could understand that marijuana is not dangerous at all from our presentations.
The next question was Are you curious to using marijuana? 6 people said they would like to use marijuana and the other 80% said they don't like to use marijuana.
Next question was Do you agree or disagree on legalizing marijuana? 29% said their country has already legalized marijuana. 16% agreed on marijuana legalization, The other 45% said legalizing marijuana as a bad thing. After hearing this presentation, I hope a lot of people changes their opinions to legalizing marijuana.
The last question was Does marijuana lead to cheaper medication treatment? 60% said no to this question, 40% said yes to cheaper medication treatment.
The last 2 questions were Is marijuana more addictive than alcohol and cigarettes?and next quiz was Is it more harmful than alcohol and cigarettes? The answer for the quizzes are not marijuana, but everybody answered marijuana as the most addictive and harmful of the 3. From these quizzes, we can infer that the people who answered the survey does not have an adequate knowledge towards marijuana.

Answer for question 13, 14, and 15

Is there a hospital that use marijuana secretly?
On September 2011, one hospital in England which is North Manchester General and Fairfield in Bury has used marijuana for the first time as part of a trial. People who are terminally ill with cancer will initially take part in the trial but if successful, its use could be extended across the country and be used as a painkiller for other conditions. Eight people have already been signed up, and 32 others will be recruited over the next two years. It is very important to point out that patients using the spray do not experience the euphoria associated with the illegal recreational use of cannabis and also it has passed the strict test for the quality and safety. This occurred on 2011, and 5 years has past since this trial, so I wonder this trial succeeded or not. I could not find this result in the source, so I am interested on it.I think this has succeeded now because I hear a lot of hospitals that uses marijuana for medical treatment.

Do physicians legally prescribe marijuana?
Physicians cannot legally prescribe marijuana. Physicians can only write letters of recommendation that the patient qualifies for a certification to use the substance, and only after a thorough examination and many other requirements. As I said there is a law not to prescribe marijuana as a medical treatment, but in California doctors often prescribe marijuana illegally.Doctors say "I'll write you a script for $50."and earn money cleverly. Most states do not permit an actual “prescription” for medical marijuana, but only authorize a practitioner to recommend it, or advise the patient to consider it. One federal court has recognized that in states where medical marijuana is legal doctors have a constitutional free speech right to make such recommendations to patients. However, many states do require practitioners to certify in some way that a patient suffers from a condition that that state has recognized will benefit from treatment with medical marijuana. New York, for example, requires doctors to certify that a patient suffers from “a specific severe, debilitating, or life threatening condition that is accompanied by an associated or complicating condition.”

Is there a risk on using medical marijuana?
Medical marijuana is available in several different forms. It can be smoked, vaporized, ingested in a pill form or an edible version can be added to foods such as brownies, cookies and chocolate bars. Therefore, everyone can try it easily without noticing that it is a drug. After studying all this stuff, I thought this was not a good question, so I would like to change this question to "Is there a side effects on medical marijuana ?" . THC which is a substance that is in the marijuana associates with thinking, memory, pleasure, coordination and time perception. The effects of marijuana can interfere with attention, judgment and balance.

Answer for question 10,11, and 12

What do you mean by recreational use of marijuana?
Firstly, when you search recreational drug use on the internet, it says street drug which synonym is recreational drug .This in detail means a substance taken for non medical purposes. Recreational use may be permitted much like alcohol or tobacco. But unlike alcohol or tobacco, which have defined limits under federal law and state law, marijuana intoxication symptoms are not as clear, nor is the drug testing as accurate, since THC can stay in a person’s system for weeks. Some companies have already legalized marijuana in their workplace so as to focus on their work. It will be a nice relaxation for them. Some marijuana can get you high. There are some types in marijuana too. This means that there are some that won't get you high at all. The problem of marijuana is that people use it for self-medication without professions advise. This will lead you to harm due to the lack of knowledge.

Why do you need a license to make a marijuana business?
To get started with a marijuana business, you need to have these conditions.I would like to take Colorado for example. The main requirement for owning any (medical or recreational) marijuana business is you need to be a current resident of the state of Colorado and have been living there for at least 2 years prior to applying for a license. In any states that legalize marijuana requires licence to own or start a business.

Can smoking marijuana while pregnant harm an unborn baby?
I searched about this question on the baby center questionnaire sites and found out that most of the people who smoke marijuana when they are pregnant say that it would not hurt their babies. This is said from their experiences. However, this is not true in matter of the fact.It is actually affected by any amount of marijuana taken by the pregnant woman, placing it at a greater risk of complications occurring. Also, secondhand marijuana smoke may result in illness or altered consciousness in infants and young children. Mothers using marijuana to treat medical conditions, like chronic pain, should stop using while they are pregnant until more information about the potential harms is available.

Ansewer for question 7,8 and 9

What are the trends in marijuana use in the United States?
In 2013, an estimated 24.6 million Americans aged 12 or older—9.4 percent of the population—had used an illicit drug in the past month. This number is up from 8.3 percent in 2002.This is the large rise in the trend. The increase mostly reflects a recent rise in use of marijuana, the most commonly used illicit drug. Cocaine use has gone down in the last few years. In 2013, the number of current users aged 12 or older was 1.5 million. This number is lower than in 2002 to 2007 (ranging from 2.0 million to 2.4 million).More than half of new illicit drug users begin with marijuana. This trend means that the people in the US started to use Marijuana because half of the states now have been legalized marijuana. Therefore the user of the Cocaine shifted to marijuana.

Couldn’t legalizing and taxing marijuana generate significant revenue?
As we can see from the tabacco revenue, specifically people in Japan buys a lot and generate tax revenues. This can be said for the marijuana too if it were legalized. Marijuana legalization would generate tax revenue of approximately $2.4 billion annually if marijuana were taxed like all other goods, and $6.2 billion annually if marijuana were taxed at rates comparable to those on alcohol and tobacco. (A 2007 study from George Mason University reports that lost revenue from failing to tax a $113 billion business, as well as costs incurred enforcing marijuana laws, cost U.S. taxpayers $41.8 billion yearly.) These budgetary impacts rely on a range of assumptions, but the estimates are most likely biased downward. The second sources that I referred to was published on May 2016, so it was quite new but it still said that the revenue that is caused by the marijuana was huge in amount. Why not legalize marijuana?

If there is no bad effect, why don't they legalize marijuana?
Over 100 million Americans have tried and used marijuana including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and so on. Also it is said that it will be legalized in 10 years. But legalizing marijuana is not right because it makes kids an easy access to marijuana and it can do you more harm than alcohols and tabaccos if users are young. Of course, there is still a lot of opposition. Legalization is opposed by most politicians because either they actually believe the lies about marijuana or they are afraid they will be accused of being “pro-drug” and weak on crime. It is said to be harmless for their health, but it has some effects on our body because you are inhaling something to your lungs. Also,it lacks the evidence of how effective medical marijuana is.

Answer for question 5 and 6

Does using Marijuana lead to other drugs?
Long-term studies of drug use patterns show that most high school students who use other illegal drugs have tried marijuana first. However, many young people who use marijuana do not go on to use other drugs. To explain why, here are a few theories:
Exposure to marijuana may affect the brain, particularly during development, which continues into the early 20s. Effects may include changes to the brain that make other drugs more appealing. For example, animal research suggests that early exposure to marijuana makes opioid drugs (like Vicodin® or heroin) more pleasurable.
Someone who is using marijuana is likely to be in contact with other users and sellers of other drugs, increasing the risk of being encouraged or tempted to try them.
People at high risk of using drugs may use marijuana first because it is easy to get (like cigarettes and alcohol).

What are the dangers of using marijuana?
Dangers in the immediate effects of marijuana include distortions of time and space perceptions and impaired coordination, all of which may be contributing to the increased risk of traffic accidents recently discovered. Particularly important for students to know about is the creation of difficulty thinking or problem solving and impairment of memory and learning. These difficulties can last for as long as four weeks after drug use.

Answer for question 3 and 4

*How do you know that marijuana is effective to some diseases?
Dr. Sue Sisley noticed an unexpected trend among her patients. The psychiatrist works with veterans who struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder, also known as PTSD. Some of these patients felt better and better after using the marijuana plant. Most marijuana studies focus on the harm caused by the plant. The studies on its medicinal qualities are small.
Here are 10 disease that can be healed by the medical marijuana. AIDS, Alzheimer's, Arthritis, Asthma, Cancer, Chronic pain, Crohn's disease,Epilepsy, Glaucoma, and Multiple sclerosis. These diseases will be effective because they made an experiment and found out that it will be healed.

*How many cases were there in the past that were medicated by marijuana?
There are a lot of countries that uses marijuana for the medical use and succeeded on medicating some of the diseases. However, from country to country the law of using it is different. In Africa, most of the countries are fined for posing it, but it is rarely caught. Some countries in Africa only allow marijuana for the medical use. In Australia, the huge cultivation cite of marijuana, it is only good to export marijuana to other countries. In Canada, recently they had made a law that says you can grow marijuana at home if you have a license.
